About Us

Our Beginnings

Elder Services was established as a non-profit by a group of citizens and advocates in 1974. Since then, Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley has been the first choice and the first call for elder care. We help older adults, caregivers and their families, navigate a complex system of services and programs to address long term care needs.

Elder Services is based in Lawrence Massachusetts and serves 23 cities and towns in the Merrimack Valley including the Greater Newburyport, Haverhill, Lawrence and Lowell communities. We are a private non-profit, with a federal designation as an Area Agency on Aging and a state designation as an Aging Service Access Point (ASAP) and Protective Service agency.
