Dear Friends and Colleagues,
This year’s theme, Playing Nice ~ Making Communities Work, defines our success from a larger perspective of community. Our keynote speaker Nora O’Brien, Senior Program Officer from the John A. Hartford Foundation speaks about the importance of building and sustaining good community relationships that positively impact the well-being and culture of communities and how this prepares the groundwork to effectively create partnerships.
Over the years, Elder Services has benefited from a strong, supportive network that has shaped our mission and development as an agency. It has been many of the established personal and professional relationships that have made the most lasting improvements in our systems of care. Today, as we recognize Rosanne DiStefano’s life-time achievements on behalf of all older adults, we also celebrate the power of Playing Nice.
In closing and repeating what Robert Fulghum simply stated, “no matter how old you are – when you go out into the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together.”
