Dr. John Zeisel, Author, Founder of Hearthstone and the I’m Still Here™ Approach
I’m Still Here ®: The Art of Engagement
Art has proved to have the incredible ability to revive and utilize emotional memories. In this presentation, Dr. Zeisel will look at the relationship between art and the Alzheimer’s mind and the ways in which the artistic experience, both creating and viewing art, can be used to foster a “sense of self”. Participants will explore artistic initiatives including ARTZ ™, a program that brings cultural experiences of all kinds to people living with memory challenges, and learn how the artistic experience can treat symptoms and ease the isolation that often accompanies a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease for patients and their care partners.
RN and SW CEUs pending approval.
