Groups In Tewksbury, Haverhill, and Lowell

Every chapter on Learn to Cope holds weekly meetings run by experienced facilitators who have been there. These meetings offer peer-support, education, resources and HOPE for families dealing with addiction and recovery.  They are a safe place for members to share their experiences, ask questions, learn about addition and listen to guest speakers who are either in long term recovery or professionals in the field. Overdose education and Narcan training is also available at every meeting in Massachusetts.

American Brain Tumor Association CareLine – 1-800-866-ABTA (2282) – Are you a brain tumor patient, survivor, or caregiver looking for one-on-one support? ABTA “CommYOUnity” connects brain tumor patients, survivors and caregivers with Mentors who have been through a similar situation.

American Stroke Association – The Stroke Warmline 1-888-4-STROKE – Warmline staffed by specially trained representatives who have had personal experiences with stroke.

Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration – The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration sponsors telephone support groups for caregivers who are not able to access a face to face group led by experienced facilitators. National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) HelpLine – 1-800-950-NAMI (6264) – HelpLine staff and volunteers are prepared to answer your questions about mental health issues including symptoms of mental illness, treatment options, local support groups and services, education programs, helping family members get treatment, programs to help find jobs, and NAMI Legal Resource Service.

National Cancer Institute – Cancer Hope Network – 1-877-HOPENET – Matches patients and families with trained volunteers who have recovered from a similar cancer experience.

Lewy Body Dementia – Caregiver link – 1-800-539-9767 – For caregivers who do not have internet access or wish to speak with someone. Provides a link to experienced LBD caregivers. Please leave a message and LBDA volunteer will return your call within 24-48 hours.

Parkinson’s Disease Help Line – 1-800-457-6676 from 9:00 am – 6:00 pm

Veterans Caregiver Support Line – 1-855-260-3274 staffed M-F 8:00 am – 8:00 pm – Support Coordinators are licensed professionals who can support you by matching you with local resources and services that you are eligible also available to just listen to concerns.
