> A message from Joan Hatem-Roy, Chief Executive Officer

Today it’s official! Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley and North Shore Elder Services are formally merged, and we are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. Combining staff and resources allows us to strengthen our services and programs to meet consumer needs in 28 communities. This effort required a year long process of discussion and working together to determine how to make this merger a success.

It is critical that the mission, culture, and identity of each organization is honored as we determine the best options to bring staff together and integrate our work and systems. Most importantly, we want to ensure the services consumers rely on are not disrupted; and elders, disabled adults, and caregivers continue to seek our help to meet their unmet needs.

At both Merrimack Valley and North Shore, we have witnessed a pride among staff for what they do and a bond with the consumers they assist. There may be differences in size and geography, however, we share the same commitment to caring for those we serve. That sense of connection and hard work will make this merger successful.

Sincerely,

Joan Hatem-Roy
