Under a bright blue sky Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley hosted 131 golfers at our Annual Golf Classic at Renaissance in Haverhill on Monday, June 18th to raise money for older adults whose greatest desire is to remain independent at home. Proceeds from this event benefit our DiStefano Family Care Fund for older adults who seek emergency help with items of basic necessity like extra food, prescription medications, fuel or services like respite care for a 24/7 caregiver of a loved one diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. Sometimes it is a simple request like fixing a broken wheelchair for mobility or repairing a pair of eyeglasses to read.

For the second year in a row, first place Classic winners were the Billerica Paramedics from Billerica is Joe Devlin and Brian Lutrell, Chris Voutselas, Lowell, and Doug Roberge from Dracut. Other contest winners include Bazooka Cannon winner, Carol Wilson, Pentucket Bank, Haverhill who won accommodations for a week at a place of her choice.
